Early simple Christmas decor for 2021

Is it too soon?

I’m one of the people who gets excited about Christmas in July. When I worked in retail we started evaluating the previous Christmas in January which as a bit early but I do love Christmas A LOT.

Last year I didn’t have a tree and gave the entire contents of my Christmas tree decor including stand and lights to my son and his girlfriend who got a tree of their own for the first time.

This year I’m starting from scratch and while I may not start decorating until late November I definitely start thinking about how I’ll decorate early.

To be honest I’ll probably keep it super simple and make most of the decorations.

I’m a minimalist, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to forgo decor completely. I still want the cozy festive feeling so here I’ve collected some Christmas decor that I’m loving and am inspired by this year.

1+9. Paper star ornament i white and kraft paper. So simple so classic.

2. The tree I have is faux from IKEA. I’ve debated for three Christmases on whether to get real trees or a fake one I finally made a decision to go faux. The reason being 1) I appear to be allergic to the kind of tree I like 2) I’m a blogger again and we need our trees early. Haha! Here are some cute options if you can’t get to IKEA: tall and skinny, quirky ,leggy and prelit. For a table top I like this short and stubby and this prelit feel real one.

3. I just love paper decorations. This paper garland is sprinkled with a bit of glitter which will look extra pretty at candle light.

4. Swedish brand Watt & Veke are killing it with their renditions of the white paper stars. Here’s the kind of star I have had for over a decade and it’s going up again this year. EDIT! My friend Jane now sells paper stars in her shop!

5. I’ve always been a fan of Jonathan Adler’s and who wouldn’t want a random Christmas kangaroo in their tree?

6. My favorite color obviously looks great on a Christmas stocking!

7. More paper decor. What can I say, it’s pretty!

8. I don’t have any relation to the nutcracker story but I’ve always loved the idea of it. These unfinished nutcrackers are so fun and I’d keep them naked.
